After almost two hundred years the shocking emotional story of claimed demonic possession intermingled with love, lust, and potential murder is presented. Every part of this story has a direct line of contact with a real person who lived, then recorded their experiences. Every quote has a reference number which can if so desired, be independently investigated and confirmed.

No religious viewpoint, or intention to represent any proselyting into Church, organization, or lifestyle is intended or presented in this book. This book contains the unforgettable, emotional, story involving Sojurner-Truth, Matthias, Joseph Smith, and many of their close friends.

We present the unique connections between Robert Matthews (Prophet Matthias) and the Mormon Prophet Joseph Smith. Surprisingly, the notorious American Prophet Matthias continually claimed to be able to know the difference between good, and evil spirits: he even said that he could control them!

Every quote has a reference number which can if so desired, be independently investigated and confirmed. After a decade of research and writing, we have comprehensively correlated the facts.

I can see how much research has gone into this book and can appreciate that the author has been thorough and I think that this makes for a good read.
I don’t think that Matthias was a good man but that’s just my thoughts .
It was a present that I did like very much

It has given me excellent insight into American History which peaked my interest greatly.
The book was extremely well written and extensively researched which enables the reader to immerse themselves in the characters.
It’s a compelling true story that had me hooked from the first chapter right through to its conclusion.

What a fascinating read! I was totally engrossed from the beginning.
How these two protagonists played gullible people is hard to believe in this day and age. The author’s dedication to his research must truly be applauded, it is meticulously recorded and must have been time consuming.
I thoroughly recommend this for anyone who is interested in the how, why, when and where that religion played a part in the life of our forebears

This is an extremely well-researched book, covering a subject which has been a mystery to many. No doubt there will be those who are offended by this book, but sadly it illustrates in disturbing detail how charlatans have invented a bogus “faith”, and not only perpetuated a highly questionable lifestyle, but have gained enormous financial wealth from so doing.
It is not an easy read nor would it be, in view of the subject matter, but it reveals a disturbing story which needs to be told.

Being a busy mum of 3 , I started off not knowing if this would be another book that I would start and not be able to finish, as lots of young mums know , the distraction of children can put a hold on reading time .
Reading the flipping book version and I found that it was a surprisingly easy and compelling read.
This is a wonderful book the Author Mike Wilkins, I know him on a personal and professional level and have been in awe of the sheer dedication and extensive research that he has done to bring this book to life.
It doesn’t matter if your reading it for history purposes or as a love story with lots of twists.
It’s got something for everyone and would highly recommend it as a great read.
All the best in your endeavours – you deserve great success.

“An interesting insight into the lives of Matthias the prophet, Sojournertruth and the Mormon prophet Joseph Smith. While each have their own place in history, they are, through various circumstances, brought together in this unique narrative. The book is very thorough, with much of the text being taken directly from journals, news paper articles and court documents of the day, interspersed with insightful commentary from the author and brought together into this interesting and informative narrative.
I found the book easy to read with the author succeeding in generating a need to know what happened next. The book provides excellent insight into what was making the news headlines during the years spanned by the book and is the best, if not the only detailed history of Mathias the Prophet, those he deceived and his rise and fall, who otherwise would have been lost into the mists of time. An excellent read and I would highly recommended it “

The Author, diligently unearths countless facts and details about Matthias & Smith. Some of these revelations are quite shocking, but if you enjoy a good read this is the book for you. The two exponents: Held the same ambitions but were worlds apart, Once started, the book is very hard to put down.
